In the heart of Auvergne, central France, our bed and breakfast is located less than 5 minute from exit 17 of the A75 motorway in the calm village of Nonette, central France. There is easy access to Clermont Ferrand (35 km), and Issoire (12 km). Taking the motorway and the Millau viaduct you need only 3 hours to go to Montpellier and mediterranean sea and 4h30 to Paris, we are therefore an ideal stop for anyone to travel between the South and the North of Europe. Taking the A72 motorway the airport of LYON (Easy jet, British Airways) 2h30 or taking the A75 motorway the airport of RODEZ (RYANAIR) 2h10. Clermont Ferrand's airport and station are 30 minutes away and with the EUROSTAR to Paris and TGV to Clermont Ferrand.

Nonette has an abundance of beautiful landscapes, architecturally interesting buildings, including Nonette’s very own chateau ruin, which attracts many artists, plus a wealth of indigenous flora and fauna for your painting holiday. The end of the canyon of Allier river

The Allier river forms a loop around the Peak of Nonette and walking, fishing, swimming and canoeing are available. Canoeing is organized by the Camp-site "Les Loges" located near our beautiful village. For those fond of sport, the canyon of Allier is close to Nonette and offers circuits in canoeing or kayaking at all levels. Around Nonette and in the area you will be able to watch many birds, in particular birds of prey, you will find more information on the website of the L.P.O "League for the Protection of the Birds".

Fishing in the Allier

For those which want to practise or discover gliding, the airport of Issoire is one of the best in Europe, the ascending draughts of the area are famous and pilots from all nationalities come here to practise their passion.

Motor sports are not forgotten. The circuit racing of Issoire with its driving school and training courses on motor bike or in racing car is 5 mins away.

Nature in the various regional parks like Regional Natural reserve of the Volcanos of Auvergne are a few minutes from Nonette. They offer many excursions during which you will discover the fauna and the picturesque flora of Central France. In winter all winter sports are available in local resorts 45 mins away.

The area has a rich historical past, the ruins of the castle of Nonette are there to testify. The cities and the neighbouring villages abound with splendid medieval vestiges and treasures of the Romanesque art like the abbeys of the 12th century in Issoire, Saint Nectaire, La Chaise Dieu or Brioude.

As for all the areas of France, nobody can speak about the Auvergne without speaking about gastronomy. Our village has an excellent restaurant "La clef des Champs" which is located at 100 meters of our house. There are a number of good restaurants in the area.

A few days holiday will not be enough to discover this beautiful area .
